Having handled a number of Employee Theft claims, I am not astonished at the survey results. It is happening at the Mom & Pop shops, Churches, Banks, etc…; and committed by people from all walks of life, and with any # of years with that employer. When underwriting any risks with Crime Coverage, it is very important that there is a clear understanding of the money management precedures and safeguards, regardless of how much of a “family” atmosphere the company purports to have.

Ethics and fair dealing is a culture core of a company. It’s not a bottom up agenda but a top down responsibility. If the company emloyees don’t respect the business pratices management operates by then dishonesty becomes the culture.

I am trying to find statistics of employee misuse of company computers. How much time and money is lost because of employees sending personal e-mails, posting on message boards, chat rooms, shopping, etc.
Is there such info? I have tried several search avenues without results. Any help will be appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    R. Scarlett
