I.I.I. Estimates Insurers Will Pay $7.4 Billion for Charley

    interesting to note, MY homeowner’s insurance company, Capitol Preferred, includes Hurricane Insurance, however, the “company” is balking because they state flood damage. We do not live in a flood zone (see survey of home) and therefore cannot purchase flood insurance even if we wanted to purchase such. In studying the actual policy, there is NO specific verbiage pertaining to the HURRICANE portion ( costing 2/3 of my premiums), and the company is denying everything and/or depreciating everything below the value of the hefty deductible. Interesting to note, their “adjustor” who is NOT licensed in the State of FL, advised us to make the repairs and send “the company” the bill. Now what do we do….. EAT the losses to the tune of $10G !!!!! (*&(*^
