From a client perspective it was broken so it need to be fixed. But it sounds to me they don’t know how to fix it. I doubt outsourcing will fix it, but at least the folks at Aon will have a third party to blame.
Yes, you are partially correct, now they can have someone to blame, but from an inside point of view, let’s just say so the officers can get an even larger bonus than they did last year; lay off more people. Just ask the people in Alpharetta based former Combined SPecialty that AON sold to Axis Specialty. ASK the people behind how the outsourcing to the “blue shirts” destroyed their lives, while the officers got richer…. it’s all about the money – that is the real story.

Agreed Joe, it would appear that the impetus behind the switch to outsourcing would be to allow Aon to focus on their industry lagging revenue growth.
Being able to blame poor performance on a third-party would also be an inviting idea for their management team.
