Council Issues Call for Pride Award Nominations

February 23, 2004

The National Auto Body Council (NABC) has issued a call for nominations for its annual Pride Awards.

The Awards, which are presented at the Collision Industry Night of Achievement during NACE, are meant to recognize those groups or individuals who selflessly contribute time and energy in an attempt to improve their communities and the world around them. And in doing so, improve the image of the collision industry and all who work in it. The PRIDE awards are not about what a person or organization does within the industry, but to recognize those in the industry for what they do outside of the industry.

“Nominating forms are being distributed to all NABC members, collision repair trade associations, as well as many other industry segments” Stacy Bartnik, chairman of the Council’s PRIDE Award committee, commented. “We have already sent out nomination forms to past PRIDE Award winners.”

“However, completing a form is not the only way to nominate someone,” Bartnik continued. “You can call the Council office, mention that you want to nominate someone, and a representative from the Pride Committee will contact you to obtain the necessary information.

“A downloadable form is also available at the Council’s Web site, www.autobodycouncil.org, and there is also a separate version that can be completed and submitted online. So, if you know of a deserving individual or a group of individuals, there is really no reason or excuse not to nominate them,” Bartnik stated.

The deadline for receiving nominations is Sept. 15, 2004. Winners will be notified by Oct. 15, 2004. Award presentations will take place at the next NACE Convention which will be held in Las Vegas in November 2004.

“We know that there are many deserving people within our industry,” Bartnik concluded. “Many of them do good for its own sake and do not have a need to be recognized for their selfless acts. It is up to us to make sure they are acknowledged and thanked.”
