Performancelink Offers Direct Connection for Insurers, Key Data for Shops

December 9, 2003

PPG Industries announced the launch of PerformanceLink(TM) connectivity, a new technology platform that will directly connect insurance companies to performance-based collision repair centers across North America and other claim service providers.

PerformanceLink will allow insurance companies to communicate directly with participating repair centers in real time. Claims representatives, adjusters and desk reviewers can instantly review, approve and electronically share claims throughout the organization, resulting in reduced cycle times and claims processing costs. PerformanceLink will also ensure greater consistency and conformity among repair centers to direct repair provider criteria.

For collision repair centers, PerformanceLink will provide the gateway to accessing valuable benchmarking business intelligence that will allow shop owners to realize operational efficiencies and secure additional work from insurance companies.

“PerformanceLink takes our performance-based network of auto body repair centers to the next level,” said Jeff Blum, director of PPG’s Automotive Aftermarket Alliance. “Now, not only do we deliver insurers a wide range of offerings in the automotive aftermarket industry with thousands of service providers across North America, we also give them a technology providing a direct connection to all of them.”

The Automotive Aftermarket Alliance consists of: The CertifiedFirst(TM) Network, with participants including more than 1,400 dealership and independently owned auto body repair centers throughout North America; PPG PROSTARS(R), a national alliance of more than 750 independently-owned certified auto glass replacement and repair professionals; and Aquapel(R) Glass Treatment, a long-lasting professional windshield treatment that repels rain, reduces night glare, and makes it easier to remove snow, ice, dirt and bugs.
