August 20, 2003

International Catastrophe Insurance Managers, LLC (ICAT), announced that John Beck and John Johnson have been appointed to the position of senior vice president and regional executive officer for the company.

Beck will lead ICAT’s expansion on the Eastern Seaboard, while Johnson will continue to build ICAT’s presence in the Gulf Region. Each will be responsible for day-to-day underwriting and marketing activities, portfolio analysis, and for recommending corporate strategies to optimize ICAT’s business.

“Their combined experiences bring nearly 40 years of insurance and management experience to ICAT,” said Jack Graham, ICAT’s CEO. “ICAT and our agents and brokers will benefit from Beck’s expertise as we increase our presence from Georgia all the way up the Eastern Seaboard; likewise, Johnson’s experiences as a product manager will help ICAT maintain its edge in Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas and prove invaluable when we enter Louisiana later this year.”

Beck most recently worked with Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company as assistant VP and profit center manager after being promoted from product development manager.

Beck has 24 years of insurance experience. Prior to his work at Empire, he worked with Union Insurance Company, Omaha Property and Casualty Insurance, the Nebraska Department of Insurance, and Allied Insurance Company. Beck’s responsibilities at these companies included claims, underwriting, marketing, and regulatory duties.

Johnson came to ICAT from Bank of America where he was vice president and product manager.

Johnson, who has 15 years of insurance experience, worked with Arrowhead General Insurance Agency before Bank of America. While with Arrowhead, his responsibilities included underwriting, marketing and product development.
