A southwestern Indiana library director says a library building in Vincennes recently damaged by a severe thunderstorm suffered more extensive damage than initially thought.
Library director Emily Bunyan says the Knox County Public Library’s Bloebaum-Fuller Outreach Building had been believed not to have sustained any structural damage when thunderstorm winds ripped off about half of its awning.
But Bunyan tells the Vincennes Sun-Commercial that a follow-up inspection found weakened bricks and a compromised entrance on the building’s north side.
She says the building isn’t in any danger of collapsing, but the bricks need to be reinforced to prevent any further damage.
