A strong thunderstorm that pushed through central and western North Dakota brought 85 mph straight-line winds that damaged four cabins along Lake Isabel south of Dawson.
No one was injured.
Kidder County Emergency Manager Jim Albrecht tells the Bismarck Tribune that the Wednesday night storm dropped more than three inches of rain in less than two hours in Steele and brought damaging winds strong enough to uproot two “giant” cottonwood trees.
Albrecht says north and west side of the lake was hit hardest.
Albrecht says he did not believe anyone was displaced due to the storm since most of the homes along the lake are summer cabins rather than permanent homes.
