Independent Insurance Adjusters, Catastrophe Companies and Insurance Carriers have struggled for years moving their cat teams from state to state to aid in the recovery process because many states have individual “licensing” requirements. It would be great if the NAIC could spearhead a “national” licensing process similar to our driver’s licenses which would allow “licensed” claims professionals to get to work faster instead of waiting
for state DOI’s to process temporary licenses/non-resident licenses. DOI’s are often overwhelmed post event processing/granting temporary licenses and there is so much inconsistency between states with minimum requirements, CE’s etc. It shouldn’t be so hard for a “qualified” claims professional to hit the ground running… just a thought.
