I am in favor of maximum freedoms – but those freedoms should not impact others pocket books. If motorcylists want to go without helmets, they should not get the same legal benefits in a court of law as those who are responsible and wear helmets. if they want to go bare, that’s fine, but there should be restrictions on what they can collect as compared to responsible drivers who cover up. the same should apply for the use of seatbelts. go without if you lke, but don’t expect the same benefits as someone who is safety minded.
