A recent bout of straight-line winds is being blamed for downing about 400 trees in a state park in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
MLive.com reports a storm packing winds of up to 100 mph swept through J.W. Wells State Park in Menominee County, causing the damage.
No injuries were reported at the park near Cedar River. A weather service survey of the area determined that Tuesday’s damage wasn’t due to a tornado.
The weather service says the heaviest damage was near the park’s entrance.
