Even though medicine is advanced enough to transplant organs from one human to another and other amazing things….Endocrine disorders, especially Thyroid problems is one of the most dismissed and overlooked conditions/diseases there is. And it’s a travesty!! Thyroid conditions can ruin your life and make you extremely ill both physically and mentally. Most docs write off the symptoms as being all in your head, as if we’re all idiots who don’t really know when something is wrong with us. Something has to change with doctors and their inability to diagnose properly. This woman was basically murdered by those incompetent imposters. My heart goes out to this poor womans family.
Laura, I agree with you. People, including doctors, do not understand how much the thyroid controls in anyones body.From our metabolisms, to emotions, hair growth, emotions, to our heart rates and heat/cold tolerance.
I have had my PCP tell me that it is surprising how many malidies are in part due to our thyroids malfunctioning. But some doctors want to treat the symptoms not the cause, and that will not help the patients.If that doctor is unwilling to listen and learn, the person with thyroid disease, disorder or even cancer may be ignored till to late, such as this story.
Most doctors discount our symtoms as in out heads or are unwilling to prescribe the correct medicines to help us. They go by numbers and don’t help the patiences.
That worse part is this lady was basically murdered due to the inemptitude of thi clinic. My heart goes out to her family.
