Tenants Warned Troubled Ohio Mall May Be Shut Down

December 13, 2011

Tenants at an Ohio shopping mall have been told to be ready in case county officials decide to shut the place down.

Wood County Commissioner Jim Carter tells WTOL-TV that building inspectors have found Woodville Mall near Toledo has structural problems, including part of the roof caving in.

Ceilings leak and the heat is faulty at the 41-year-old shopping center.

The mall’s general manager sent a letter to tenants on Friday saying county health and building inspectors planned to look over the entire mall on Monday. WTVG-TV reports that the letter warned some 15 stores that they may be forced to vacate quickly.
