Spiderman wouldn’t sue someone after rescuing them, that is for sure. What ever happened to assumption of risk?

Did someone tell the two men that they had to save her? I cannot believe they are attempting this.

Guys, the rest of humanity thanks you for your choice to help a fellow human being that was burning to death. Sucking some smoke comes with the job.
If only John Wayne were still around.

Did I miss something? There must be more to the story because I don’t understand how the heroes suddenly became the bad guys. Were the two men paid rescue workers whose jobs put them in harm’s way? Or are they two decent men who risked their lives, suffering injuries as a result of saving a human being from certain death? One sounds like a work comp claim the other sounds like suit may be the only means to recover for medical and emotional damages they suffered. If I were the rescued woman I’d be glad to be alive and I wouldn’t be a good witness for anyone challenging that these men should not be made whole. Thank God these men didn’t take stock of their financial ability to absorb their medical costs before saving her.

It’s call the “Rescue Doctrine” and it is in place to encourage persons to assist people in life threatening situations. Assumption of risk and comparitive fault do not come into play under the rescue doctrine.

I guarantee there is some sleazy, worthless lawyer behind this… This is truly pathetic. We’ve all stopped to help accident victims. We’re human. These guys however…. What a pack of a**holes!
