Sounds like a high-powered federal government joy ride went astray.

Agent Kingston is a jackass and should be disciplined. I think the insurer has a shot at subrogation since the vechicle wasn’t be operating on “official business” and was out of the scope of the agency’s operation. There’s no question stupidity and excessive speed are the cause.

Let’s see, Insurance premiums paid. Car was stolen. Claim was paid. Car was found, but returned damaged. Deal with it. What practices allowed that car to be stolen in the first place and who is really at fault here? Why don’t you stick it the the thieves that stole it in the first place instead of those that found it for you. You’re lucky it wasn’t chopped in S. America! Oh. Excuse me. The taxpayers can pay for this for you?
