    This only applies to new and refurbished buses, and then only after 2014.

    How many buses serve our children today?
    A= many many thousand
    How many new/refurbished units in the pipeline? A= less than a handful.

    Reduction is state payments to our schools have driven many districts to eliminate all but state minimum busing (K-8 walk two miles one-way, 9-12 no buses at all).

    If any buses need to be replaced in the next decade, they’ll be plenty of used ones to choose from.

    This is an empty gesture from our empty-headed legislators.
