A good and timely article – unfortunately, my carrier, Allstate, has had a moratorium on Earthquake coverage in Illinois for several years now (according to my agent as I’ve approached him several times in the past three years). I don’t wish to move my entire insurance package but may be forced to, given their strict underwriting practices.

Tell you agent to call a local wholesale agent…EQ is readily available in Illinois and most other states on a monoline basis..you don’t have to move your other coverages.
