I just read President Obama’s Speech this AM. It was pretty clear that he put corporate greed on the top of his list of what needed to be reformed. That didn’t really seem logical to me and it still doesn’t. To the non-insurance populace, it may seem true, but as this article shows, the insurance commissioners office did their job. Am I missing something here or are we the vilians we are being painted out to be? I don’t see it, especially with such a subject as Health Insurance.
“The bottom line is that health care premiums are for health care, they are not for expensive retirement parties, corporate jets, risky hotel investments or a compensation structure that rewards senior management regardless of BCBS’s financial performance,” said state Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm in an announcement released by the department.
