Mine told me about it too when they were young. I offered to call CPS for them so they could be taken away somewhere (who knows where?), but they declined. Dang! We also had a dirt mark in the corner for the longest time before they were too big. Besides, it was time to paint. Wouldn’t trade them for the world, now.

They teach this in school – My three (yes three, 3, tres, drei) year old told me that I couldn’t punish him because he would call 911 and the police would come and take me away… and I would be all gone. Rest assured, he didn’t hear it from our house!

I hope other states follow suit… and I don’t mean as in lawsuit….

Now mind you, standing in the corner with your arms down by your side, or on the stool in the corner to “think” about what was a good choice or a bad choice wasn’t an option when I was younger – It was spare the rod…Spoil the Child – Yet today, you can’t even inflict simple discipline for fear they’ll say something at school and you’ll be stopped at the light by a swat team to haul your butt away for abuse.

Too much power given to the youth of today – There is a difference between discipline and abuse – however, no one seems to want to draw the line in the sand.

There is no respect, no responsibility, no “caste system” between ADULT and CHILD – We’ve created a world full of monsters that someday will be taking care of us in our twilight years (charming thought isn’t it…)
