I’m not making the connection between red ribbons and DUI prevention?

To answer your question, Mrs. Wormer, MADD has long used red ribbons as one of their symbols. I remember getting red ribbons from MADD at elementary school.

MADD is well-intended, “feel good” organization with a legitimate and noble cause. The reality is it hasn’t made much of a difference. As long as humans walk the earth there will always be irresponsible low life who will drink and drive regardless of fines, jail time, camera’s, sobriety checkpoints and the like. Our legal system has chosen not to take a hard stand on the problem. How many times have you read about some idiot who has 20 DUI citations, no license, no insurance? Every time some decent person gets killed by one of these idiots there’s a temporary furor that ultimately just goes away. It’s a sad commentary, but true.

Alcohol is probably the most dangerous legal intoxicant you can purchase. The government is a slave for the tax revenue generated by cigs and alcohol.

If cigs and alcohol were expempt from taxes, Do you think you would be able to buy these products in a store?
