    Only a government would pay for garbage like this. Maybe they should remove the “NORM” about unforseable cost being charged back. If you bid, then that should be your bid. No bonuses for doing your job or even being done early. At least not with tax payers money. If businesses want to do stuff like that or individuals, fine, but don’t make us pay for it. How many of us have purchased cars? Would you ever pay the dealership, even one day later, extra money because they just realized the blue color on your car cost them an extra $500? No! I know this isn’t the perfect example, but I think you get my point.

    As I work withing sight of the bridge and experienced the results of the disruption, it is worth the extra expense.

    Agreed Plymn, Baxtor is a total knucklehead. CDOT awards contractors for finishing a project early and underbudget. Incentives like these are great for the contractor and the public especially for freeways and bridges that are damaged or destroyed by fire, earthquakes, etc.
