The headline implies that this was a “gift” but it was really just part of the
payment owed on the claim, and it wasn’t given to the officials, personally, it was paid to the school district. It either makes it appear EMC is being charitable, or making some improper gift to school officials, neither of which is correct !
You’re correct on both counts. What I’d like to know is what was the school insured for? Other articles have made it sound like they were not insured for nearly enough, & will need to find funds elsewhere to pay for it.
