Was it John Edwards or merely one of his disciples?

Wow that kid was going to be a breadwinner!!!

That’s more than $250,000 a year, for sixty years.

Another tally in the “win” column for John Edwards and company.

Only in America do we have a tort system like this. No wonder my wife’s OB/GYN stopped delivering babies in 2006.

Seriously, women have been birthing babies for thousands of years… why shouldn’t we go back to giving birth in the dirt?? Oh, and the lawyers probably made closer to $4.6M, if earning the typical 30% for PI.

Noonie: Once suit is filed the ante is raised and the contingency fee goes to 40-50%. Even so, exactly what did this scumbag do to earn that amount of money? I agree that Americans need a hard lesson in the cost of mining profits from healthcare professionals who bust their humps to improve the human condition. Personal injury attorneys feed off anything they can find. They add nothing to society. They are glorified commission salespeople.

What about the child and there quality of life.

But here’s the real question. Who gets the money and does anyone monitor on how it is spent. Does Mommy now get to buy a new car and take trips all over the world, or does it get spent to insure that that child gets taken care of

I dont understand, what if you got sucked into life by a vacuum tube and couldnt walk and were really stupid.

Wouldnt you want a lawyer to show that the Dr was negligent?

I would. I would also want to be reasonably compensated for the damages.

If you want to complain that the pay out was too much, thats fine, or that the lawyer got paid too much, thats fine too.

But to say that the Dr. didnt do anything wrong and there should be no recourse sounds illogical.
