Dear lastbat, remember to include medical centers, pharmaceutical companies, and physicians among your designated hitters on the greed-mound! Please pray that your health remains unimpaired sufficiently to never be at the mercy of unscrupulousness in any venue. Dear George, it really is “not that difficult” to extend compassion especially when you are not walking in the loafers of any injured party. Try growing up and outward. Perhaps, when U2 need practical sympathies, ears will listen!

Where else on the globe can people charge $350-400/ hour for their “work”. Answer:The ones with the biggest houses, most expensive cars, most money, etc. This is one move in the right direction.

I loved the line that people aren’t filing because most of the money would go to the attorneys. Most of the money would go to the attorneys anyway people! Give me a break. Great law, great story.

I have disability insurance to cover common errors that aren’t malpractice. If it is malpractice I’ll take all the economic damages incurred. I’m for capping non-economic damages; if you can’t put a price on emotional pain you shouldn’t try.

There’s a big difference between capping non-economic damages and capping total damages. There should never be a cap on economic damages, because those can be quantified and should be reimbursed. I get miffed when people are awarded large sums in non-economic damages.

And there’s nothing wrong with having the case vetted before it goes to a judge and jury.

Um this is about insurance not about emotions and compassion. If you want that go find an elementary school teacher web site or a unicorn/rainbow website to go strolling through. On this site, we discuss insurance and claim related issues where emotions and compassion are not needed.
