Interesting how Missouri goes to court to stop the releases of water today, but previously has gone to court to order the release of water when the upstream states were having (and still have) a shortage of water to supply their municipal water and recreational water needs. They want their barge operations to trump the needs of municipalities getting drinking water.

Maybe they should think about being a more cooperative neighbor in the future.

Sounds familiar…the US Amry Corps wouldn’t stop sending water to Florida when Georgia and Alabama were drying up last summer/fall!

how come there is not a sign agreement between the various states since they are the ones in control of the water situation…all the corp is a consultant, afterall, did not they supposedly consult about the levies in New Orleans? if another state needs water, then we need to be able to help cooperatively and not have to go through court or the feds…

wudchuck, your assesment is wrong. The corp is not a consultant, they control the dams and all of the water releases from the dams.

They are a typical government agency – they don’t have a clue about what they are doing.
