No cause for alarm. This is an annual occurence in Wisconsin and other cold weather states that has no solution. Think about the phsics of snowmobiling:
    1. un-licensed operators
    2. driving mostly at night
    3. having no safety devices
    4. having no exterior protection
    5. traveling at high rates of speed
    6. having nobody patroling the trails for wreckless operators and excessive speed.
    7. the impact factor of a human body being airborne and striking a fixed object at 60mph.
    8. the time delay in calling for help and finding the victims.

Wisconsin thinks a 55mph speed limit AT NIGHT is mitigating factor? Get on one of these things and crank it up to 55mph and see how safe you feel rocketing through the woods and winding trails just a few feet away from trees and rocks. Never mind the risk of some other moron crossing in front of you or God forbid, going the wrong way.

It’s a thrill, no question. People just need to realize the severity of the consequences.

Right on Dread…only one thing you could have included….large majority of riders are going from bar to bar….alcohol may be just a bit of a factor….

I have not seen them wearing them while actually riding, however I have seen a couple take off their helmet and put the cheesehead on before they go into the bar!
