I haven’t seen much about this dispite the news reports. What is actually wrong with the meat? All I have seen is brief clips of animals being mistreated. Just curious.

From what I’ve seen, the issue is the potential that the animals that were unable to get up could potentially be infected with Mad Cow disease, but were being slaughtered and the meat send out anyway.

From the long news article I read, these “downers” or cows that cannot walk to slaughter are more susceptible to e coli (at the very least).

Couldn’t get up? If you saw the video it looked like some were just about dead. Some looked like they couldn’t move let alone stand up. Very sad commentary, if true, about how that company was run.

The question everyone is asking now is ‘Where’s the beef?’

I just had to say it…..

Michiganders will eat anything. They hunt and eat worse stuff than this.

But would the things they hunt and eat be going through an approval and grading process?

Thank you all for your information. We in Michigan seldom eat anything except McDonalds. That’s bad enough without angry and mistreated cattle being fed to our schoolchildren. I doubt many of them actually ate the beef since most of them subsist on candy and soft drinks.
