Arsonist Ordered to Cover Minn. City’s $100,000 Insurance Deductible

    the city is worried about the $100k deductible. um…. so the insurance industry can than – bring civil suit for $348k for the amount they had to pay since this fella admitted to crime. but what i hear in this article, it was not arson. arson is for those planning on setting something on fire. this case was an accident – fire spread past the means of this person. he admitted he was cold and started a fire for warmth. he did not know that this fire would quickly spread and cause damage. he meant no harm. i think the city and the law needs to look at the defination of arson. think they need to drop back and look at the situation. how much money do they spend frivilous on other things? are they really going to see this person payback $100k? it might take some 10-20 yrs. if this person moves, how are you going to locate him? afterall, he’s homeless!
