As I was reading this article, I kept expecting them to provide the link to the site, but I guess they forgot that minor detail. Here is the link: http://safetravelusa.com/sd/camera_images.html
this is great for the local folks, but those folks whom are already on the road, would not help since they don’t have access to the computer. we have it here where i live, it helps with the tunnel traffic i deal with everyday. but again, it helps those locally who have access to the computer. so, this really does not help the true vacation traveller.

SD is a beautiful place. I believe it was recently listed as the #7 place to go for outdoorsmen (hunting & fishing) In the west you have the Black Hills and everything it includes. The Missouri River runs through it and provide many recreational opportunities. The NE corner is full of glacial lakes, great fishing and hunting.
Technology allows anyone to access the internet anywhere, including in my car while driving, so yes, I can see the pictures from the internet. Which, in SoDak in winter time, can be important. Cause the downside (yes I recognize its not all wonderful) is that there is a lot of empty space between cities and you don’t want to go off the road in a snowstorm. That would be bad (been there, done that, no fun).
Sorry to be so negative to the posters, but people like to put SD down because its remote. It may not be your preference, but a lot of people like it and I might have bad things to say about places you like, such as big cities (and yes, I have lived in big cities-like Boston, Cleveland and a few others. Give me small town living-especially to raise a family).
well, fyi, i used to be a OTR-trucker. i love driving through all of our states of the US. scenery is wonderful. now, if your looking at your computer while you are driving and want to check traffic conditions – is that like driving with a cellphone? driving while distracted? and what about folks who do not carry a computer with them? besides, humor is good for the soul.
