to be considered unemployed, you first have to be looking for work. To be looking for work, you have to be, well, a living person. Who would stay in this state unemployed? You get to freeze and starve…if looking for work, it seems warmer climates are preferred. Perhaps the low rate is more reflective of the workers getting the heck out of North Dakota climate than it is reflective of the incredible business climate.
Chad, you seem a bit jealous of the low unemployment rate in ND. If you keep up that kind of talk, you won’t be getting a Christmas Card from the ND Tourism Department.
good point, it’s a very beautiful state, I’ve driven thru many times on the way to Winnipeg…I’m sure the low employment rate is a direct result of workers flocking to ND for available positions:)
I think unemployment would be even lower if they could drop ‘North’ from the name and just call it ‘Dakota’. Hey, if it’s good enough for a truck brand…
