I am confused as to why this is news. If I have this straight, we have a drunk driver being sued by the beneficiaries and estate of the passenger who she has been convicted of killing. The estate is also making an underinsured claim. If this is a big deal in Iowa, it must be the only state where this is true. It must be a slow news day at the Insurance Journal.

I’m from Iowa, & I’m surprised this is a big deal too. While this is not as common here as elsewhere in the country, it’s not like it’s unheard of.
The IJ must have needed something else to fill up the “Midwest News” section.

I didn’t mean to put Iowa down and apologize if it sounds that way. My visits to Iowa have been very pleasant. Also,as a resident of NH, I must admit to being jealous of Iowa always being a week ahead of us when it comes to the presidential election.

No apologies needed. Your question was a valid one. Like I said I don’t know why this would make the IJ either, unless it’s because State Farm was named as a defendant too (like that doesn’t happen a hundred times every day.)
I’m glad your visits have been pleasant.
As for the caucuses, at least your primaries are binding. Our caucuses are not.
