In a collision of a Donorcycle and a four wheeled vehicle or deer, bet on the four wheeled vehicle or the deer. There’s no loss control for colliding with deer and in spite of all the driver education and training that can be done, Donorcycle drivers will always be more vulnerable to serious injury and death by virtue of having no protection.

I can tell you that I have seen and dealt with many deer v. auto claim where the driver and/or passengers of the auto died as a result of the collision. Oh the deer died as well. I’m just saying that auto drivers shouldn’t feel so safe or smug in their car.

Dear “Couln’t Resist”: Who elected you class critic? The purpose of these topics is to invite commentary and ideas from insurance professionals. If you have nothing substantive to offer, I suggest you go join a non-business related chat room.

Having worked in insurance claims for probably longer than you’ve been alive, I’ve dealt with the Donorcycle argument ad nauseum. I marvel that people just don’t get……riding a Donorcycle is dangerous and always will be. Nobody should be concerned about increasing numbers and severity of Donorcyle driver injuries. They won’t stop riding them, and there’s nothing that can be done about them so why worry about them?

Wasn’t elected class critic, just was waiting for the comments like Ohioan’s. In fact, your comments could be directed there also. As for your career path, I have probably been in the industry longer than you have been in claims or alive yourself. Agreed that riding is dangerous and always will be, but at least I’m not the one doing the name calling and I wasn’t the least bit worried.

I have to agree with both Ohioan and Claims Guy. YOU are out of line on this. The point remains, comments on this site should be restricted to the topic, not about the people offering them. If you’ve been in claims longer than I (35 years), you should know better. This site wasn’t developed for personal attacks on people who offer comments and you got the ball rolling with your meaningless, pompous remark.
When you throw something, you’d better duck. Enough.

Good Lord people, lighten up. I looked at this post just to see where the offense took place and found nothing. It looked like good natured ribbing to me. I have been around over 30 years too. So what? Read some other lines on this site some time to see some vicious personal attacks. This post was nothing.

I was going to answer, but thought better of it. Nobody Important said it very well & placed it in it’s proper perspective. Thanks Nobody.
