Ohio Budget Director: State Overreacted in Response to Data Theft

    These people just don’t get it. The root cause of this real or perceived mess was the failure of a State agency to protect sensitive data. Both the moron who entrusted the laptop with the data and thejunior employee who left it un-protected in his car should be fired for gross stupidity. Now the taxpayers are out an estimated $3 million dollars because of bureaucratic incompetence.
    Of course when’s the last time any State employee was disciplined or terminated for incompetence. Their arguments are moot.
