I can tell you why some ispectors found more problems than others…they’re out for blood. Having driven my tractor/trailer rig for some time I can say that I was never the victim of such predatory inspections, but I’ve heard plenty of stories from other drivers who have had their trips ruined by overeager inspectors. The mantra I always heard was “if they pull you over, they’ll find something wrong with your truck, no matter what”. Pity the poor sap who’s just trying to ease on down the road. And before you start yelling at me, I realize that there are also plenty of trucks out there that are dangerous in various ways, so it’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t sort of situation. I’m still in favor of the inspections.
