Institute Says Ind. First State to Pass Ban on Accident Response Fees

    This type of issue will only result in an increase of hit and runs leaving the victim to foot the bill, then in turn causing an increase in our insurance cost. I can understand if it is a single car accident caused by stupidity, Yes they should foot the bill for the police or emergency crews. The USCG has been doing that for years.

    The concept of charging people for emergency responses is repugnant to me. I have been a volunteer fireman for 30 years, and the fire, police, and EMS have assumed a responsibility to not be looking at the \”bottom line\” when resonding. Leave the cost calculations to our politicians to figure out, just don\’t slap another fee on to the citizen who needs help.
