It\’s apparent that the out of control MADD organization\’s approach is not working, unless of course you look at the numbers. 37k arrested x 10k avg per person = 370,000,000. A 370m industry in MN thanks to MADD. Please note, a passenger with a BAC of .02 being transported by a driver with BAC = 0.0 who was killed in a one vehicle accident is considered an alcohol related fatility for purpose of generating the 20 add\’l arf\’s from the previous year. 37k socially responsible drinkers arrested because they MIGHT harm another human being. What a joke. Inattentive driving needs more attention than this issue.

When you have people running around with something that suppose to look funny, drinking until blitzed what can you expect of a society.. Get a life folks.

Just to make sure I understand you correcltly…..you think someone drinking and driving shouldn\’t be arrested because they MAY harm someone? I was hit at 75 miles an hour (and I was at a dead stop) by someone drinking beer while driving so is he ok or unattentive? p.s. it was 6 years ago in April and I still have back problems that keeps me out of work.

Hey Kelly: If you are referring to my comments, I am on your side. I meant that those that don\’t really have a life (tailgate party goers)are probably responsible for this horrible situation. If it were up to me, I would ban sports and the idiots that think that being a sports fan is nirvana! Acting like drunken sots, even dress like 12 year old children with their little school clothes shorts, T\’s and a slice of cheese on their heads.
I am sure the rest of the world views us as the idiots the tailgaters portray. What a bunch those tailgaters are!!!

    Patriot,

No, I wasn\’t referring to your comment, just th 11% 20 people comment. Trying to figure out exactly what is being said. I am in total agreement on the way the rest of the world see\’s us, sad to say that I lived in another country where there are more people in this small country than ours and yet they don\’t have alcohol related accidents because everyone there walks, rides bikes, takes trains, cabs or a bus on a regular basis and especially if they are drinking.

Those foreign countries also don\’t have an out of control political action committee known as MADD. I\’m sorry for your accident. You unfortunately missed my point on the semantics used by MADD to inflate numbers and statistics to mean something other than what they are. Whoever hit you Kelly, should pay a price. I don\’t know if it was alcohol or inattentiveness. I would fathom a guess that of the 37k arrested in MN, less than .1% killed someone other than themselves in an accident. It\’s all about the money honey. And MADD needs more of it.

It is cold in Minnesota. Perhaps they could warm up the state to reduce the alcohol consumption.
