Check the prison population, go to any police department and see what percentage of the citations issued and arrest made are
minorities (compared to the makeup of the population of that jurisdition). I handled claims for many years for a major carrier, approx. 70% of the accidents were incurred by a certain minority group while approx. 70% of the total inureds were not in this group. Check it out, if you dare. Granted the social standing, education, income, etc. probably has some bearing on this but culture plays a large part, but it also plays a large part in the latter areas also. So, LLCJ, I am not a racist, I just see what is happening, nothing more. Again, check it out for yourself. Ignorance is bliss and there are others on this site that are truly \”blissed\”.

Superjuster, I want to add one more thing to what I said earlier — and simultaneously address something that you just added.

Let\’s talk for a moment about immigrant groups and fraud. Strictly as an example, how about the Vietnamese … or the Russians … or the Hispanics … or the Arabic speaking Middle Easterners? When they arrive in this country, they know little (if any) English. They also know almost nothing about this the ways of our society. Where do they turn to in order to learn? The answer, I believe, is to foreign language television and foreign language newspapers. And there, every five minutes … or on the bottom of every single page … is advertisement after advertisement pushing the message that America is all about lawyers and lawsuits.

I happen to believe that the insurance industry has a responsibility (!) to offset this message. We need to reach out to these groups, to loudly shout that bogus claims and loaded lawsuits are NOT the correct or moral way to get ahead in this country.

    Think about it.

If he\’s in this country legally, how does that affect his guilt/innocence?

Sounds like this prosecutor was trying ot inflame a jury.

This is the sad face of the immigration debate.

I\’ll tell you why it is an issue, because there is a misnomer out there that all illegals are just honest hard workers trying to live the American dream. How many of the illegal Mexicans crossing the border every day are carrying illegal drugs that are then being sold to our children? To many is the answer. How the hell do we know what they are bringing or doing here if we cannot even document they are here. I say great for inflaming the jury. Since when does the bill of rights and freedoms we enjoy as citizens become the rights of someone here illegally? They were created for legal citizens not terrorists and illegals.

seems like a simple answer why his immigration status is an issue; he\’s only 29, so he\’s probably not been here that long, yet he has managed to scam millions from govt programs, now he has to pay 1.25 mill back plus he gets a U$ Taxpaper paid vacation in the pen, which is undoubtedly much nicer than what he would receive in Nigeria.

Yes, millions are hard workers, but not all come here for hard work, some come here for easy ripoffs/crime/drug sales/cable tv.

typical neo-con response, Reagan/Chip/Ralph (how many names do you use on this board anyway?). Illegal immagration isn\’t even at issue in this article, yet you hijack another post to spout your typical hate speech rants. How much do the freepers pay you to google web sites and post this nonsense?

don\’t know how long he\’s been here, but you\’ll note the article stated, and I repeated, he\’s 29. Odds are he didn\’t get started on this when he was 12. So, he has not been here and doing this that long, yet he scammed us for millions. Pretty quick work. No, the fact that he\’s an immigrant doesn\’t equate to \’because he\’s an immigrant he did this\’, but you know the media wouldn\’t hesitate to report \’conservative Christian guilty of defrauding millions\’; makes it more interesting than \’man\’. It\’s still ironic; most come here to work hard, not steal, but it does justify the importance of verifiying immigration status rather than offering amnesty.

Rosie, did you wake up cranky after watching the View today? That\’s it, if you can\’t counter an argument, paint your opponent as an oppressive/hatist/racist.
You left out male, but no doubt you have issues there, too. Don\’t worry, you can always get surgery.

But don\’t worry, Ralph (sorry, I\’m not Ralph) probably thinks much more highly of you.
