S.D Bill Would Seal Driving Records of Police, Fire, Ambulance Employees

    I agree in principle with the bill, I do take exception to Rave\’s comment: \”Even if you stop at the red light, which I might add you have to do, you stop at the red light, look both ways, somebody can blast through, T-bone you, you still have a mark on your record\”

    I have driven emergency vehicles, stopping at a red light and then driving into the intersection where someone T-bones you simply means that the emergency vehicle driver did not bother to pay attention to what was coming. You should never assume that someone will stop. After all, they may not see you and they are looking at a green light. The proper action of the emergency vehicle operator would to be to pay attention to the cross traffic.
