Dr. Peter Boesen has been my family ENT doctor since 1997. He has never done anything unethical. He is a caring and intelligent doctor who will get to the bottom of your medical needs. I have never had him bill incorrectly, bill for services never received or fabricate the truth. This is an outrage! I have had hospitals bill me for things that were never done. Why not go after them?

Dr. Boesen is not only my cousin, he is my
son\’s ear, nose, throat Doctor. Dr. Pete is
100% professional and great with kids. To
think insurance companys tell HIM what to do and WHAT to charge is crazy… I trust
my son\’s care to a doctor and his knowledge
    and schooling and professional ability.
We all pay plenty of insurance premiums,
so to go after a doctor for doing a great job… really sucks….. Hang in there Dr.
Boesen…we love you and stand by you !!!

My son had tubes put in 1998 and later in 2000. I\’ve always questioned the 2nd surgery because he never had infections after the 1st set. The 2nd set left a huge hole and he had to have a tempanoplasty in another state since we moved. Reading about Dr. Boesen\’s convictions now makes me wonder if my suspicions were correct.

In September 2005 Dr. Boesen performed surgery on several anatomical parts of my nose/sinuses because I was constantly getting sick from sinus infections, etc. I didnt feel a difference at all and recently I had another CT scan done on my nose/sinuses and my doctor said that there had been no change from the one I had gotten before my surgery and the problems had actually gotten worse.

My daughter experienced chronic ear infections since the day she was born. She was seen by several pediatricians and four different ENTs on countless occasions. She had 5-sets of ear tubes before the age of 10 and even had surgery once to remove a set of tubes, because it was thought they were the cause of the infection, only to have another set of tubes put in later. We followed each physicians instructions to the letter (having had surgery for a cholesteatoma when I was a teenager, I was adamant that my little girl would not have to go through that procedure). Nevertheless, one morning the ENT treating her at the time told me she needed the surgery. I left that ENT’s office, went directly to my daughter’s pediatrician and asked for a referral to the University of IA Clinics; instead, the pediatrician referred us to Dr. Boesen and arranged for an appointment that afternoon.

Dr. Boesen examined my daughter’s ears and I told him the previous ENT said she had a cholesteatoma and needed surgery. This I’ll never forget—Dr. Boesen looked directly at me and very calmly said, “I don’t think so.” Dr. Boesen prescribed another course of treatment and within 2-weeks my daughter’s ears improved dramatically. From that point on, rather than going to see an ENT every few weeks, my daughter went to see Dr. Boesen 2-3 times a year. She never developed a cholesteatoma or needed the surgery recommended by the previous ENT. If ever there was an opportunity for a physician to perform an unnecessary surgery only to collect the money, this was it! If Dr. Boesen is truly the unscrupulous man this case makes him out to be, why didn’t he seize this opportunity? Instead, Dr. Boesen followed a conservative approach and today, ~10 years later, my daughter’s ears are fine. I am firmly convinced Dr. Boesen saved my daughter’s hearing and consequently vastly improved her quality of life (those of you familiar with hearing loss and its effect on development know what I am talking about); I owe the man a great deal of thanks!

If/when he begins to practice medicine again, I will not hesitate to see him.
