I find it absolutely amazing and at the same time disheartening that everyone knows about the discrimination that is so blatant in the insurance industry. NO ONE WANTS TO ADDRESS IT! If you live in Detroit, you are probably black and if you are black, you pay higher premiums for insurance – regardless of your driving record? The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I find it amazing that people don\’t want to consider the level of risk they pose to an insurance company.
Here is a hint… The rate of claims is higher in Detroit. The commisioner had a study done by economists (not the insurance industry) a year or two ago and they found that rates were not excessive there.

Face it… insurance prices are based upon risk.

Stop whining about it. If you want cheaper insurance focus on educating people that they can\’t drive like maniacs. Focus on reducing fraud. Focusing on reducing theft.
