Good thinking. We all know that the government is the way to solve this problem. We certainly would not want to consider the concept of the free market pricing this product and allowing this to dissuade unsound development.

Much better to subsidize this development so that we and our grandkids can continue to pay for this in perpetuity.

It\’s also very important to address broker compensation. We would not want anyone to get rich off of insurance. Much better to establish legions of govermental offices and bureacrats to effectively administer rates and filings. The sucess of competition and low rates in heavily regulated states such as Florida, New York and Texas should be emulated by all states.

I concur. I still have not heard any sound reason why I, as a Colorado resident, should have to subsidize Gulf Coast residents who persist in rebuilding hurricane susceptible housing along their coasts. They want all the benefits of coastal living, but do not want to accept the risks that go with it, but want my dollars when I receive no benefit.
