How about if the legislators stop monkeying around with this stuff and start focusing on reducing the unemployment in Michigan.

Maybe this WILL help unemployment – for every person killed or totally disabled, it opens up their former job for someone else.

I rode, but only my helmet kept me alive when a moron backed out in front of me. Common sense in riders is fine, common sense in others on the road is almost non-existent. I will never support this legislation and I am a Michigan voter.

I don\’t ride motorcycles, but I ride my bicycle plenty. Everyone should be required to wear helmets while riding. I\’ve been in 2 bicycle wrecks in the last 7 years where the helmet saved my head. A person blew a stop sign and I went over their hood and hit my helmeted head on the pavement. Had I not worn a helmet, then the rock that lodged in my helmet would have punctured my skull. People that don\’t wear helments are idiots, in my opinion. Oh yeah – and last fall while out doing property inspections, I saw a guy lose his life when a geriatric pulled out in front of his hog. He died from head trauma, and guess what? No helmet!

For the panty waists who are so concerned about my head getting damaged riding my bike, Mind your own buisness. The economic benefits of eliminating the helmet law for those qualified in Michigan far outweighs any costs you \”make up\”. Tourism increases alone will skyrocket, bringing in multiple millions of dollars to the State. If your so concerned about my head, why not your own? How many head injuries do you think would be eliminated in Michigan each year if everyone wore helmets in cars? With out a doubt it would be vastly more than the 22 associated with motorcyclists. But, I guess its an acceptable percentage based on the number of injuries per driver, eh? Give me a break. Listen last I checked, I am an adult capable of making decisions that effect the security of my existence. Lets see. I made my own decision to spend 10 years in the military, doing dangerous things in dangerous places. I made my own decision to make a career out of a job which requires me to wear a bullet proof vest and carry two pistols on my person everyday, in the hopes of protecting your ugly asses from the bad guys. And do you think I do those things to live on the edge? Do you think I do it because of a death wish? Pshaw, surely not. I do it because I believe in the God Given Freedoms and Rights that every man and woman is guarenteed in this country. And I will NEVER rest while panty waists like you little mommas children whine about how it is making your lives difficult. MOVE to a country that will make your decisions for you. MOVE to a place in the world where you can feel the security you need. MOVE away from the United States of America, home of the FREE! Or just shut up, and attend to the things that effect YOUR life.
