Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company is in the process of adding 190 new jobs, including 145 new claims professional positions, to its existing operations in Earth City, near St. Louis. As part of the company’s expansion, a new national customer sales and service center has opened to assist the company’s network of independent agents.
“We are pleased that Fireman’s Fund will continue to strengthen its historic presence in the St. Louis area by creating high paying, high quality jobs that will improve the quality of life for Missouri workers and their families,” said Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with Fireman’s Fund as part of efforts to expanding economic opportunities for Missourians now and in the future.”
Fireman’s Fund is adding candidates with a range of skills, from entry level and administrative support to claims adjuster experience in the areas of homeowners, auto liability and commercial business insurance.
With the increase in staff, Fireman’s Fund expects to employ nearly 370 people at its Earth City offices.
Fireman’s Fund has built a presence in the St. Louis area for more than 40 years. Its legacy includes serving as the insurer of the Spirit of St. Louis aircraft piloted by Charles Lindbergh in the first transatlantic flight.
Because of its central location, St. Louis has served as the company’s headquarters for its Catastrophe (CAT) and Claims Service Center. The CAT team is specially trained to monitor and respond immediately to disasters affecting the company’s policyholders anywhere in the country, such as the recent hurricanes affecting the Gulf Coast.
