I feel sorry for the parents loss of son in an auto accident, but go back over the driving record of the \”27\” year old and finally where does the money come from to pay for these outlandish settlements–right here pal!!! all it does is raises everyone else\’s premiums sky high and then we sit back and wonder why all the business is leaving our country—We have become so sue happy and ridiculous with our judgements the only people winning here are the Attorneys!!!

It is hard to believe that insurers are being held responsible for adult children\’s behavior. While trying to be sympathetic for the family\’s loss, it is appalling that at the same time, that same family is making society pay it for its breach of its own responsibility.

I also ask, where does it end?

It\’ll never end. At least not until judges are appointed at the local level instead of having their election campaigns primarily subsidized by plaintiff\’s bar. Our courts have been anything but objective and have certainly not employed a level playing field for as long as I can remember. Plaintiff attorneys, in particular, personal injury lawyers, have had their way with all of us for a long time now and will continue in my opinion to dominate the \”justice system\” unless something heroic is done. They control our country.

Just an FYI for all of you that read and have responded to this article. I am Ryan\’s oldest sister, Theresa. So that you all are aware — we did not receive the above stated amount of money ($720,000), as the insurance company had a cap on it of $50, 000. That should have been printed also in these pathetic articles!! Regardless of anyone\’s criminal or driving record; until you lose a loved one you don\’t realize the large hole in your heart-and our family doesn\’t think anything less of Ryan because of a couple of DUI\’s! All the money in the world wouldn\’t bring my beautiful brother back. I would give EVERYTHING that I own to be able to see and hug my brother one more time if even for a second. So don\’t worry your pathetic tax dollars didn\’t pay our family a damn thing. Get your narrow minded heads out of your asses. This article once again proves not to believe everything that you read. –Theresa Rafinski (in memory of a beautiful man whose life was cut way too short because of a drunk driver-Ryan Rafinski April 15, 1977-April 28, 2004.
