Ohio A.G. Executes Search Warrant at Health Care Provider Alleging Medicaid and Medicare Fraud

October 6, 2004

Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit this week executed a search warrant at Hope Home Health Care in Reynoldsburg. Petro’s investigators allege that Hope has committed Medicaid and Medicare fraud by billing the government-funded programs for services that were never provided.

“My office will not tolerate those who seek to defraud the Medicare and Medicaid programs,” Petro said. “We must ensure that these dollars are being used to fund legitimate services.”

During the raid, Petro’s investigators sought to secure documents that would validate their allegation that Hope Home Health Care committed Medicaid and Medicare fraud from Jan. 1, 2002 to the present.

The Reynoldsburg Police Department and federal agents also participated in the execution of the search warrant.
