Ohio Man Sentenced in Workers’ Comp Case

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) announced a Millersport man has been sentenced for committing workers’ compensation fraud.

Jack Thompson was sentenced to 180 days probation, a $200 fine, court costs and restitution of $2,536.66 to BWC.

BWC’s special investigation department (SID) was alerted of possible fraud by Thompson when he reportedly neglected to attend scheduled physical therapy appointments.

In addition, BWC attempted to contact Thompson at home, but he was never reportedly able to be reached. Special investigations confirmed Thompson was self employed while receiving temporary total disability benefits and living maintenance benefits from BWC.

Thompson was injured on the job in October 1997. He suffered injuries to his wrist, ankle and ribs while working for Adirondak Corporation.
