The system sounds very comprehensive; however, I can hear the uninformed adjuster arguing that since “O&P” is included within each element, then they will expect to reduce or delete the General Contractor’s “O&P,” which is an entirely separate cost factor.
Why confuse an adjuster more?
Personally and professionally, I do not believe adjusters should be allowed to write an estimate period. The significant majority are not experienced in true construction and absolutely do not know or keep abreast of the controling regulations and codes resulting in exposing the insured to environmental harms, work stopages and fines not to mention exposure to extended loss of use (which many times is ceased at 12 months even when the time extension is due to an inexperienced adjuster).
