i was involved in a personel injury accident in 1997.i sued and won my case, the jury awarded me 2.1 million dollars.2 million of which was punitive damages, as awarded by the jury, ( we were not allowed to tell the jury about the law)which left me with only 75,000 dollars.i lost my home because of the accident.it was valued at 100,000 dollars, now as a result of the accident im very ill.the punitive damage law took away my compensation for injuries recieved to me and my home.now i have to take 32 pills a day to stay alive.this law is only good for the people who harm other people, they can get away with hurting others and this law protects them not the plantiff.this is a unjust law.my case had merit,it was’nt a frivalous law suit.real damages were done to me and my home.now i’m left with out being able to work and on social security, and the tax payers are being forced to support me..
