Vandendael Named Everest Insurance International CEO

Everest Insurance, the diversified specialty insurance division of Everest Re Group, Ltd., announced the addition of Vincent Vandendael as CEO of Everest Insurance International. He will lead all facets of the Everest Insurance operations outside of North America. Based in London, he will join the Everest Insurance global leadership team and will report to Jonathan Zaffino, president and CEO of Everest Insurance.

Vandendael brings twenty-eight years of diversified global insurance experience throughout specialty and financial lines to his new position. Prior to joining Everest, he was chief commercial officer at Lloyd’s of London responsible for all business development. He also led Lloyd’s global network, which extends to 31 offices that support Lloyd’s licences to operate in over 200 territories worldwide. He has also been instrumental in establishing Lloyd’s Brussels subsidiary, which is due to open in 2019 ahead of the UK’s exit from the European Union.

Before joining Lloyd’s in 2012, Vandendael spent seventeen years in positions of increasing responsibility at Zurich Insurance Company, most recently serving as CEO Global Corporate, Asia Pacific.

Arch Insurance Taps Former AIG Exec Turpin to Become EVP and Head of U.S. Property

Valerie Turpin has joined Arch Insurance as executive vice president (EVP) and head of U.S. Property. She succeeds Michael Kmetz, who has taken a different role within the firm.

In this position, Turpin will have oversight of both the Excess and Surplus Property and U.S. Retail Property divisions. She reports to Michael Price, EVP and chief underwriting officer of Arch Insurance Group Inc.

Turpin joins Arch Insurance from American International Group (AIG), where she most recently served as senior vice president, Midwest Property and Special Risks and managed a substantial book of retail and wholesale business. Before joining AIG, she held a number of senior roles as a risk engineer and underwriter in both the U.S. and European markets.

Snapsheet Taps Industry Veteran to Take Over as President

Snapsheet, a provider of virtual claims technology for the personal and commercial insurance marketplace, appointed Jamie Yoder president.

Yoder will lead go to market activities across Snapsheet’s business lines, including virtual appraisals, fleet and rental management, Snapsheet Transactions and digital engagement and claims management.

He previously worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he led the Insurance Advisory practice for the last eight years. He has nearly three decades of experience advising senior U.S. and global executives in the insurance and financial services industries on strategy through transformation, and also led PwC’s “Future of Insurance” efforts.

CJ Przybyl, who formerly served as president, will now focus on building the firm’s emerging software as a service offering to support all P&C lines, including auto, homeowners, bodily injury and workers compensation.

Yoder will be based in Chicago and is the third senior executive addition to Snapsheet over the past 18 months, as the company moves from the start-up stage into a mature, established company. Last year, Snapsheet named CNA executive, Andy Cohen as COO; and Enova Financial executive, Sarah Doll as chief people officer.
