Sheps Promoted to VP of Claims at Coverys

Coverys, a provider of medical professional liability insurance, announced the appointment of Stephanie Sheps to vice president of Claims. Sheps inherits the position from Barbara Staples who recently retired from the organization after more than 40 years of service.

Sheps has been with Coverys since 2001 and in her new position oversees claims operations for the East and West regions, as well as national claims operations for Coverys Specialty Insurance Company and Coverys Custom Accounts. Since joining Coverys, she has been instrumental in facilitating the integration of acquisitions, developing Coverys’ analytic capabilities, creating operational efficiencies, and helping to transition the claims staff to adapt to our national platform and alternative underwriting book.

Prior to joining Coverys, Sheps worked in private practice as medical professional liability defense
counsel.

FM Global Appoints U.S. Cyber Defense Experts to Cyber Hazards Unit

John P. Morrow, Wade M. Chmielinski and Randolph P. Schmidt have been appointed as assistant vice presidents, cyber security consultants at FM Global. They are responsible for helping clients better assess and mitigate property-related cyber risk.

Morrow, who most recently worked for the U.S. Department of Defense, brings more than 25 years of experience in information technology to the organization’s expanded team.

Chmielinski, a seasoned information security professional within military and civilian sectors.

Schmidt previously worked for PwC and Accenture on cyber security-focused projects and assessments for Fortune 500 clients.

Leading the team is Jeff Tilley, recently appointed vice president and manager of cyber hazards. He succeeds Carmelina Borsellino, who has been appointed vice president, chief engineer. Tilley has been with FM Global for more than 15 years and has served in a variety of loss prevention engineering roles.

Tokio Marine HCC Names Chief Operating Officer

Susan Rivera joined Tokio Marine HCC as executive vice president and chief operating officer effective April 1, 2018, reporting to Christopher J.B. Williams, Tokio Marine HCC’s Chief Executive Officer, and working with Tokio Marine HCC’s executive management team.

Rivera has relocated to Houston, Texas.

From 2009 until earlier this year, Rivera served as president and chief executive officer of V3 Insurance Partners LLC. From 2014 to 2015, she was an independent member of Tokio Marine HCC’s Board of Directors and served on the Audit Committee, the Compensation Committee and the Enterprise Risk Oversight Committee. From 2007 to 2009, Rivera was president of QBE Specialty and chief actuary of the Americas division of QBE Insurance Group Limited. Previously, she was president and chief underwriting officer of Praetorian Insurance Company from 2006 until its acquisition by QBE in 2007. Prior to 2006, Rivera spent 15 years at AIG, holding a variety of positions of increasing responsibility.
